The Flower Folk is looking for a part time florist to work in our store every Saturday morning from 9 - 1pm and from 11 - 4pm each Sunday.
The Role:
We are looking for a passionate florist to join our small team to help with all floristry tasks and sales assistant duties in our Jesmond shop. This is a customer facing role so a friendly and approachable manner is essential, as well as a genuine love for flowers and creativity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and make florals bouquets and arrangements for daily sales, events, wedding and funerals
- Ensure all flowers are properly cared for - condition and ensure flowers are stored correctly
- Assist customers in selecting flowers, bouquets and gifts and provide excellent customer care
- Process sales transactions and handle payments instore and take orders over the phone
- Deliver flowers to local postcodes using electric van
- Process online orders and use our e-commerce website
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1.5 years floristry experience in a shop or in events (Level 2 Floristry Qualification or equivalent is desirable)
- Experience of working in a shop is essential
- Friendly and approachable manner
- Happy and confident to work independently
- Full UK Driving license and happy to drive our small van to make deliveries when required - full training using e-van will be given.
Wage and benefits:
- Rate of pay dependent on experience, but we are committed to paying above the National Living Wage. Payment made by PAYE on an hourly rate.
- 30% discount on all Flower Folk products and flowers
- 28 days of holiday pay calculated Pro Rata
Hours:
- 9 hours per week. 4 hours on a Saturday morning from 9am -1 pm, and 11am - 4pm on Sundays. More ad hoc hours will be available especially during busy periods around Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Xmas and when we have events.
Working over the weekend is a requirement so please do not apply if you are unable to commit to weekend working, although we understand that the right candidate will need certain dates off at weekends and this is of course acceptable when notice given.
