Product Details
We are so pleased to introduce our new floristry course for 2024 which encapsulates all the key components of floristry and teaches it within a relaxed and friendly environment. Starting with the basics in week 1 and leading up to the creation of a large scale one off design in week 5, we will cover a wide range of floristry skills throughout the programme which will allow your creativity to develop and inner florist to emerge.
The course will run for 5 sessions, starting at the beginning of September and ending in mid October, allowing us to make use of the different flowers and foliage as the seasons change from late Summer to early Autumn. We will make use of locally grown flowers grown by local growers as much as possible.
This course is open to any ability and anyone with an interest in flowers and/or floristry who is looking to expand their knowledge and skills set. We will be concentrating on sustainable floristry techniques - so no floral foam will be used in any of the designs you make, and we will consciously consider planet friendly options throughout the entire course.
This course will be led by Pip (owner of The Flower Folk), but will also have some input from other members of the team throughout. It's aim is to be 5 enjoyable three hour sessions, where participants have a chance to learn something new and enjoy working with and amongst cut flowers (it's good for the soul!) The course will go someway to helping those considering a career in floristry, or purely be an enjoyable way to learn something new just for the joy of it!
Each week we will cover a different aspect of floristry, with detailed hand outs and information sheets to take home. You will also take home with you any floral arrangements you make in each session (bar the final large installation session).
