Floristry Courses
From two hour masterclasses through to two week courses, we offer a range of floristry courses at both our Wheelbirks Studio and in our dedicated workspace at our Jesmond Store. Please read the information below on the different courses available.
Floristry Immersive Course (2 week intensive)
This course is for those who would like to immerse themselves in the world of floristry and to really get to grips with not only the techniques and skills, but also learn more around the business side of floristry. The programme covers floristry techniques in depth as well as costings, pricing, photography, and sourcing flowers.
Who is this course for?
You may be considering a career change or a side hustle in floristry, in which case this course could be the starting point for you. Or, maybe you would just love to learn more about floristry and would enjoy the opportunity to learn creative skills in a friendly, nurturing environment. All are welcome!
How is this course ran?
A two week (Mon to Fri) intensive course. Course ran at various points throughout the year.
Floristry Foundation Course (3 day or as an evening class)
This course encapsulates all the key components of floristry and teaches it within a relaxed and friendly environment. Starting with the basics and leading up to the creation of a large scale one off design, we will introduce you to range of floristry skills throughout the programme which will allow your creativity to develop and inner florist to emerge.
Who is this course for?
This course is open to any ability and to anyone with an interest in flowers and floristry who is looking to expand their knowledge and skills set. We will be concentrating on sustainable floristry techniques - so no floral foam will be used in any of the designs you make.
How is this course ran?
Either a 6 week block with one 3 hour class per week, or as an intensive 3 full day course. To see dates and book use the link below:
1 Day Courses
We run a selection of one day courses which concentrate on a key component of floristry. These are such a fantastic gateway into the world of flowers and can be a great taster day for out longer courses.
Floristry Masterclasses (2 hour classes)
Try bouquet making, vase arranging, creating a table centre, or a dried wreath - our core 2 hour workshops are a lovely way to spend a morning or afternoon creating a one off beautiful floral design. Relaxed, informative and creative these are great classes to do solo or with a friend. No experience necessary!
Monthly Flowers and Social (monthly)
Our once monthly meet up for flower enthusiasts. Join us for a morning for chatter, a floristry demo, and a chance to practice some floristry. This class is for all, and may be of interest to those who may have come to previous workshops or courses and would like to keep up their skills and be sociable.
