Would you like to know how to get more out of your houseplants? New to indoor plant growing? Interested in learning how to split your plants up if they are growing too big? Then this workshop is for you! We will also each plant up a lovely patio pot full of sweet pea seedlings grown from seed by local grower Kate Norris of Northumbrian Flowers and make a small wigwam frame for your sweet peas to grow up.
This practical workshop will take you through how to take cuttings, grow new plants from offshoots, and take leaf cuttings from popular household plants. We will then move into planting up seedlings (sweet peas) which have already been grown from seed locally. These are for outdoors and would sit beautifully on a patio, or beside a door and provide early summer flowers and the gorgeous unique scent of sweet peas. Once flowering you can cut the stems of flowers for enjoying in a vase.
We will be using our own stock of plants including pilea, tradescantia, spider plants and streptocarpus. At the end of the class you can take home your newly planted up cuttings to grow on at home, the sweet peas pot with wigwam, along with newly learned knowledge of how to care best for them at home.
This class is run by Pip, and her mum Val who is a horticulturalist and plant lover with plentiful plant knowledge. What’s included in this workshop:
- all materials
- light refreshments
- 10% discount in the shop on the day of your workshop
- take home newly propagated plants to grow on at home and a sweet pea pot.
