In this workshop you will learn a range of beneficial macramé knots and patterns to make a plant hanger to take home. You will be guided through the techniques used and finish with your own unique, handcrafted macramé plant hanger and a pot, ready to hang at home, or give as a gift! Price includes all materials needed, a little know guide, as well as a pot and refreshments (to keep you going!). Workshops is suitable for all levels and a great way to spend your weekend meeting new people, or spend time with friends or family, if you'd like to give this workshop as a gift.

Terrarium Making Workshop (demi-john) Sunday 9th June 2019 2.30pm - 4.30pm
£65 per person
This workshop uses the demi-john vessel (narrow topped - see image). We also run workshops using apothecary vessels with wider tops and therefore are slightly easier to make.
Come and make your very own mini landscape that can sit inside your home and flourish as it ages! This is a comprehensive workshop where you will learn the skills and techniques of terrarium making, and make your very own terrarium to take home with you at the end of the session. The class will be led by Vicki (of Pins Petals Powder - a local florist and creative www.pinspetalspodwer.co.uk), who has created the terrariums you see sitting pretty and available to buy in the shop. All tools and equipment are provided and included in the workshop cost. Vicki will also provide you with the information needed to maintain your terrarium to keep it healthy and thriving once you have taken it home - a perfect way to bring nature indoors.
Classes last approximately 2 hours with refreshments also provided.

British Flowers Week 2019 Special Event, Monday 10th June from 6pm onwards.

To kick off British Flowers Week and to highlight the wonderful flowers and foliage being grown by local growers in Northumbria we are holding a really special evening of events in celebration. You are welcome to attend the whole evening or to pop in and out as there will be informal talks and demos taking place at the following times.
6.30 pm: Floristry Demo: Hand tied bouquet making using locally grown flowers
7.30pm Floristry Demo: Vase arrangement using locally grown flowers
The evening is a great chance to learn more about the amazing produce grown on our doorstep by hardworking local experts. In addition to this there will also be an amazing 20% off EVERYTHING in store during the event.
There will also be some lovely refreshments provided throughout the evening.
Tickets are a very reasonable £5 and is ticketed to cover costs.

Dried Flower Wreath Making Workshop, Thursday 20th June 10am-12pm
£48 per person
Come and explore the delights of using dried flowers to make an everlasting wreath to adorn a door or wall of your home. Dried flowers are making a bit of a comeback, hooray! It make sense to us, the arrangements made using dried flowers will last and last, with only the colours slowly changing and fading with time. We will show you the techniques of how to wire the dried flowers onto a wreath frame and build up a textured design using a selection of dried flowers and foliage provided. This is class is a mixture of demonstration and practical work, and is sure to be fun, creative and a great way to learn a new skills, as well as taking home your own creation at the end!
Class runs for approx one and a half to two hours, all materials and light refreshments are provided. Please wear clothing you don't mind getting messy in.
